Second half of March and all of April

Time has flown by and it's been almost four months since our last post.  A lot has happened and a huge amount of photos have been taken since then.  For the benefit of all, the posts will be split up, starting with where we last left off, mid-March through the end of April.

On March 17th (St. Patrick's Day), most of the members of the Out There Project (the collective we belong to) came over to our house for a Non-Violent Communication workshop.  After the workshop, we worked together making tamales and then eating them.

Tony's birthday is March 24th (along with my brother Greg).  Tony really wanted to go sky diving for his birthday, but the weather wasn't favorable enough for that to happen.  He went gun shooting at a range in Ukiah with our friends Sabin, Xochitl and Seb.  After shooting, a bunch of us got together at a steak house called Starks.

The day after Tony's birthday, Jon and Heather came over for dinner.  They are recently engaged, congratulations Heather and Jon!!!

Our very good friend Scot has been coming up to visit from Santa Cruz fairly often.  It's always so nice to have him visit.  He's super helpful and all three of us love him very much!!!

In preparation for our trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico from April 19th to the 26th, I was taking Otis to swim classes.  Unfortunately there aren't any photos or video, he's able to pull himself out of the pool and scoot back in.  He's also getting much better about holding his breath when underwater.

Easter weekend was a very busy one!  Starting with Friday night, we had Gwin and Nancy over for dinner.

The next morning we went to Howarth Park for an Easter Egg hunt with the MacPhee's and their kids Yona and Sabina.  Otis was pretty confused about the whole thing.  He finally figured out what was going on toward the end.  Super fun though!

After the Easter egg hunt, we headed home.  Walter and Jane Camp were in town on their way down south to catch a month long cruise.  They came over for elevensies (mid-morning snacks and chatting).  Otis was playing in the mud, Walter suggested we strip him down and hose him off.  He wasn't really into it at first, but soon adapted to being muddy and wet.  Love the picture of him all muddy and wanting Walter to pick him up.  Walter being in the city, clean and wearing his nice duds, wasn't interested in holding Otis right then.

Later that day we had the MacPhee's over for Xochitl's birthday dinner.  The kids were very cute and funny together.

Easter Sunday, Tony had to work, Otis and I went over to Bev's for an Easter egg hunt and food.

The day after Easter Megan and Andre came over for dinner.  We'd been trying to arrange this dinner for over a year and it was so good to finally have it happen.  Otis had an excellent time with them as well!!!

The weekend of April 14th our incredible friends Charley and Theresa were in town from Brooklyn.  It also happened to be Scot's birthday weekend, who is also good friends with Charley and Theresa.  We had our friend Elizabeth over, also friends with them all.  Charley's lovely cousin Danyelle (Tony and I were married at her house) joined us for part of the weekend too.  It was a Santa Cruz reunion!

The three of us along with Tony's grandma Bev flew to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on April 19th.  We stayed in Bev's time share at Club Cascadas de Baja.  It was beautiful, relaxing and truly amazing.  Thank you so much Bev for sharing this experience with us!!!  We did a lot of swimming and hanging out on the beach.  Tony, Bev and Otis played a lot of scrabble on Bev's iPad.  Tony made us excellent food and fresh squeezed lime margaritas.  Absolutely spectacular!

At one of the craft gatherings at our house, I was talking about how it's been difficult for me to get projects done while home with Otis.  My lady friends suggested I put a call out to friends to see if anyone would be interested in coming up to hang out with Otis for a few hours while I worked on stuff.  Kimmie came up the Monday before we left for Cabo, so I could pack.  Lacy and Anelisa took Otis to the park one day, while Scot and Elizabeth hung out for a couple of hours on another day, so I could do some garage organizing.  Emi came up on April 29th and hung out with Otis in the back yard, while I did some yard work.  Such a good time!  Thank you all so so much!!!  It feels good being able to accomplish things around the house.

That's it for this post.  I'll continue on with our May post and then June...which will likely be just in time to do one for July.  =o)
